Sadie Bushway had a great day placing first in the shot put. Bushway won with a throw of 30 feet, three inches.

TILTON — Runner-up is becoming a familiar spot for many of the WMR girls with second place in cross country and Nordic ski then on Saturday at the D-III track championships, the Spartans were runners-up to Monadnock, 85-70, at the Winnisquam school facilities. Bow with 59 points was third of the 20 teams.
Before the meet started, the All State selections were announced and Sadie Bushway, Shaynce Wungkana and Payton Giles each received a Division III plaque.
A trio of throwers contributed 26 points from the shot put and discus events. Grace Gensamer, in her personal best by two feet, captured second in the discus with the 102’9” toss that was less then nine inches off the Husky in first. Wungkana chose to drop out of the javelin with some soreness, but hurled the disc 92’6” for fourth place in a field of 16 in discus.
